Bishop Grosseteste University was established in 1862 with a long standing reputation as an independent higher education institution. Having demolished the old accommodation block during the summer break of 2013 and building a purpose built student accommodation requiring upgrading of the switch gear and new panel board with sub main plus interfacing the new fire alarm system with the existing campus network fire alarm system. DIS used its expert knowledge of the campus after many years of service to the University; this gave minimum disruption to the ongoing running of the campus.
Also during the summer break, not only did we carry out the electrical installation for the new accommodation block but also the refurbishment of the existing student accommodation in Constance Stewart Hall. 93 bedrooms and 15 new kitchens, new lobby area stairway expansion. LED lighting has been installed in all communal corridors and stairways with auto switching and dimming facility. A new distribution board and fire alarm installation was also incorporated.
With the part demolition of the student accommodation, Nelson Hall was to undergo the transformation into the new dining room. Architectural design to the exterior of the building with special architectural consideration for the internal design. The lighting, power, kitchen, fire alarm and emergency lighting are the backbone to this concept with a definitive approach the dining experience. Being nominated to carry out this work is an achievement based on trust and reliability from the University.
